Delco Swimming & Diving League

The Delco Swim League Scholarship was established in 2025 to help graduating DSL swimmers offset a portion of their college expenses. Each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving seniors in each division (A, B, C, D) based on their dedication to their team, school involvement, and community contributions.

This is open to Senior swimmers or divers. Each winner will receive $200. See attached for further information and instructions. 


Please submit all applications electronically, if possible. While physical (letter) applications
will be accepted, they must be received by the DSL President no later than July 11th.

To submit an electronic application:

The Delco Swim League Scholarship was established in 2025 to help graduating DSL swimmers
offset a portion of their college expenses. Each year, scholarships are awarded to deserving
seniors in each division (A, B, C, D) based on their dedication to their team, school involvement,
and community contributions.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a current DSL swimmer in good standing with at least one previous season of DSL
  • participation.
  • Be a graduating senior in the Class of 2025 from a high school in the area.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

1. Name, address, and telephone number
2. DSL team affiliation(s) and years of participation
3. DSL accomplishments (team awards, All-Stars, etc.)
4. Other swim team involvement (coaching, meet assistance, event planning, etc.)
5. Academic achievements (list high school(s) attended and GPA)
6. Other school-related achievements
7. College you plan to attend (include intended major or area of study)
8. Community service or activities
9. Any other relevant information
10. Personal Statement: Explain in 500 – 750 words why you should be selected for the
scholarship. Discuss how swimming has influenced your life and personal development.
11. One letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, employer, etc. (May not be from a
parent or relative.)
Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following, in order of importance:
1. Dedication and contributions to the swimmer’s DSL team
2. School accomplishments
3. Community service
4. Academic achievement
5. Swimming accomplishments

The DSL Scholarship Committee will evaluate all applications and make the final decisions
